Antelope Island 9.2009

Monday, September 14th, 2009

April was off backpacking in ZionNP this weekend so the boys and I made a trip up north to spend some time with Clint and Annie in their new house. Annie offered to watch the boys while Clint, Spencer, and I drove out to Antelope Island to shoot photos of the sunset. The hours of Antelope Island were a bit confusing mostly due to the fact we were told we needed to leave the park before 8:30pm(website says 10pm) or we would be locked in for the night… so this pretty much screwed our ideas of hiking and shooting photos well into the night.

Temple of the Birds

After my trip out to Stansbury Island earlier in the week I wanted to get back out to the the Great Salt Lake and take so more photos. Things worked out on Friday so after work Clint, Tyler, Caiden, Lanik and I drove out to the Temple of the Birds to take photos of the sunset. Mud, junk, ruined buildings and old piers litter the landscape and make this a very interesting place to visit.

The Great Salt Lake

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Clint and I had planned to head out to the GSL to take some photos on Tuesday night after work. It rained all day long so we figured that our plans were shot. We checked the weather and saw a clearing moving in over the Stansbury Island area so we drove out to the spot.

It was about 40 degrees with 20+mph winds and that made for very cold fingers. This place is awesome! The wet salt looked like a mirror and provided some excellent images.
