Lower Eardley Canyon
After spending the night at Tomsich Butte and spending the afternoon in Goblin Valley we found our selfs with a few extra hours of daylight to kill before we headed home. We drove north on high way 24 to the side road that leads towards Lower Straight wash. We had already explored Crawford Draw, Upper Eardley, and Red Draw yet had never really taken the time to explorer the lower (and most popular) end of this canyon. Most hike this is a technical route, but I have heard there is not enough “bang for your buck” for the tech route of this canyon. HCV was a must have for road from highway 24 to the trail head, at least that what I figured until I we saw a Toyota Camry parked at the trail head. No way I would never drive that road in a car I paid for….

Large puddles in the wide wash.

Leaves settled on the bottom of a puddle.

We hiked down to the goose neck and back in about 2 hour (4 year old pace). We will have to come back to this canyon to hike all the way up to the Eardley Canyon potholes.
