One of our favorite campsites in the Temple Mountain area has always been on the backside of the reef in Wild Horse Creek. Not far beyond the WSA boundary you will run into these three small Arches.

The most interesting part of Wild Horse Creek is the narrows on the front side of the San Rafael Reef.
In October of 2006 we visited this side of the canyon less then a week after the “100 year storm” hit the area. Wild Horse Creek was full of running water with a bit of quicksand.

I also was a victim of the quicksand.

On the front side of the reef there is a spectacular arch called Wild Horse Window. I have yet to make it up there to check it out. Desertwoodrat has some excellent pictures of the window and a great Trip Report for Wild Horse Creek.
