Cascade Saddle
For the 4th of July April and I decided to hike the Cascade Saddle. In order to beat the heat we started our hike form the Rock Canyon Campground trailhead at 7:15am. We chose the rock canyon side of this hike to get as much shade as possible.

The trailhead starts at 7168 feet, The first mile of the trail is narrow single track littered with lose rock.

Once you reach the first meadows the trail becomes much more stable. At this point we started getting great views of Provo Peak and the Dry fork Cirque.

Further up into the Cirque looking at the south ridge and terraces of Cascade.

After reaching the Dry Fork Cirque the trail turns directly north, we hiked along the terraces up to the Cascade Saddle.

Last stretch of the hike before the Saddle, Timpanogus is just to the right of Cascade in this photo.

We made it to the Cascade Saddle (9,720′) in 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Dude, awesome hike and photos. Glad you made it up there. I’m jealous man - looks like it was a really good time. And, I bet you didn’t see anyone else on the trail.
I ran into two people on the way down. They mistook us for bears …..
Hey, I am wanting to hike the saddle tomorrow. Where is the trail head?
