Stewart Falls from Sundance
Stewart Falls can be found in the North Fork of Provo Canyon near Sundance Resort. This tiered waterfall is over 180 feet tall. There are two trails leading to Stewart Falls, The most popular trail is at Aspen Grove on the the Alpine loop. The second and my preferred route requires a lift pass and 3 mile hike from the summit of “Rays Lift” at Sundance Ski resort. The main reason I prefer the Sundance route is that there are far less people then on the Aspen Grove trail.

The kids always love riding Rays Lift.

The start of the Sundance Stewart Falls trail.

View of the falls and cirque from the trail.

Soon after leaving the Summit of Rays Lift the trail leads to Dry Lakes at the base of the western slopes of Mount Timpanogos.

After crossing Dry Lake the trail head down a steep hill toward Stewart Falls, This sign was recently added to this area of the trail.
You must cross this stream so be prepared for some wet feet.

After cooling off in the mist of the falls follow the trail leading down stream to return to the Sundance base area.
