Timpanogos
Timpanogos is on of the best and most popular hikes in all of Utah. My trail head of choice has always been aspen grove, We always seem to backpack up to Emerald Lake to camp then summit and head back down. The last three times I have hiked Timp we have failed to reach the summit.
2005 - April and I set up camp near the lake then headed up to toward the summit. About 20min away from the summit the sun went down and the winds picked up so we turned around.
2006- April was 4 months pregnant so we just backpacked up to the Emeral Lake.
2007- Pete and I got an early start up the trail and were making great time. But there was a huge fire in northern Utah and by 10am the sky was filled with smoke and we were feeling it our lungs. So we decided to turn around at the lake.
I am ready to get back to the top of Timp this year… I have no excuse.
